The Art of Love Making

By: Ann Cynthia Magdaraog

Last Feb 13th we had the pleasure of listening to the advise of a very competent person on the topic of the Art of Love Making. His credentials…. single, 76 years old, male, handsome, loveable and…a self-confessed virgin. He was none other than Fr. Ruben Tanseco, S.J., a very much sought after marriage counselor of 40 years.

When Ann Cora Tan invited him to speak at the Rotary Meeting on the occasion of celebrating Valentines Day, she relayed a suggestion to speak on Unconditional Love. His reply…”boring!. I have a more interesting treatment….the Art of Love Making (sensual and all)

He had us all attentive. The ladies were shamelessly giggling (too long to narrate in this article) while the men…. occasionally silent.

Father Tanseco did not give a pulpit sermon…he spoke of things couples did and enjoyed (once upon a time) but somehow got “lost in translation”.

He left his “not so young anymore audience” with two very wise advice:

One, BE THE BEST OF FRIENDS. Have empathy for one another. Feel what your spouse is going thru, set aside your thoughts and feelings, treasure your companionship. Practice mutual affirmation. Focus one each other’s positive traits rather than the negatives. Verbalize and demonstrate your affirmation and affection.

Second, Be MORE INTIMATE (Again). Continue to be passionate, sensual, and playful. (learn to have effective fore play). Experiment…experiment! Be deliberately attractive and seductive to one another. Be aware of the sexual needs of your spouse and not only of your needs. His quotable quote …“Sensuality moves to sexuality. Sexuality moves to spirituality”

The gentlemen had a rose and heart shaped sumptuous chocolate cake to give to their ladylove at the end of the affair (compliments of FL Choi and Ann Thelma Ampil). I heard Chet Tan heading towards Cora saying…”For my one and only love”.

Thank you Fr. Tanseco for setting the mood for Love Making…Rest assured we would do the rest.

Happy Valentines!
