First meeting of the year, and we made plans!

Location: Zuni, GB5 a.k.a. better food than what we usually get at THAT hotel…

The cast: 10 guys and counting….

The plot: Plan the year ahead ( …we made it as far as the next week or two )

My opening prayer: a clean bill of health from our dentist, cardiologist, gastro-enterologist, urologist, oncologist, psychiatrist, electrician and the BIR. May our hair, teeth, face lift , abs and stocks not fall. May our blood pressure, triglycerides, cholesterol, white blood count not rise…..

Pres Mac presided. Follow ups on financial commitments from sister clubs to our feeding program was brought up. The American embassy was not responding to requests for actual financial assistance after verbal promises. I know people like that too.

The club’s deficit won’t go away if we ignore it ( unlike that itch ) so PP Joe was assigned to head the fund raising golf event. South Forbes is the tentative venue, sometime in March. The details will be in PP Joe’s hands from here on. That may take care of p50k. P250k to go….

Raffles were thought of too but the idea was discarded. Too much hard work for an unsure thing. Besides we ended up buying our own tickets in the past. Scratch that off. Crappy idea…

And speaking of Craps, RCMN’s icon PP Pabling thought of Craps to raise funds. I am not at liberty to discuss the nitty gritty but in the end the club will benefit P50K from this. At the risk of 10 Rotarians losing p10k each (not p5k )or winning 5k too. No guts, no glory.

PP Ato took the initiative to make everyone involved to sign for their pledges ( if you were not there, you are not part of it). Now the rest is in PP Pabling’s hands. It was a very animated discussion and at some point Sec. Bob Hecks lost the plot and delegated the task of writing TWTW to me.

Next next week’s fellowship dinner meeting will be hosted by our PDG Ato Magadia at Tao Yuan restaurant at Resorts World. No lunch at THAT usual hotel for that week, hooray! thanks PDG Ato!
