The Rotary foundation will honor the donors for Paul Harris on Nov. 26 at G Hotel along Roxas Boulevard. I personally congratulate each and every member of our club who has contributed to Paul Harris with special mention to the following:
Dir. Tony Newnham for his major sponsorship of $25,000.00 dollars
Gov. Ato Magadia—$4,000.00 contribution
SP Joe Reano—$2,000.00 PH
PP Ric de la torre—$1,000 PH
PDG Ernie Salas—$1,000 PH
Rtn Dan Villanueva—$1,000 PH
Rtn. Chris Bellinger—$100 sustaining PH
The contribution given to the Foundation will do a great help worldwide. We can all be proud of our club for it’s 2007 total contribution to the Foundation which now stands is 35,000 dollars. By the way, this year we also commemorate the 35th anniversary of RC Makati North. It is not yet late for other Rotarians who want to contribute. Remember that the Polio disease was nearly eradicated due to the efforts of Rotary Foundation.
Kindly confirm if you are going to join our gift-giving project for the elderly in San Pablo City. We need to know who are going so we can prepare some meals, and for those who want to stay overnight please inform us at once (first come first serve basis). We have limited guest rooms but everybody is welcome. I encourage car-pooling to save precious fuel. This trip will be interesting since it will include a vocational visit to a bee farm.
I would like to ask for your support to boost our attendance. Low attendance affects our club & district performance. I also encourage everyone to bring prospective members to the club. This is the only solution I see to offset our club expenses and membership size impacts our ability to invite good guest speakers. We need all the support we can give or the future of the club will be jeopardized. The members are the strength of any organization and like any other we need our members to attend meetings and contribute their know how to improve our meeting and activities.

My dear fellow Rotarians with RC Makati North:
Let’s focus on the District’s Annual TRF Testimonial Dinner & Ball, one of the District’s premier Rotary event, that is fast approaching. Again —- the event date and time is Nov. 13, 2009, Friday at 6 pm and venue is at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Peninsula Manila. Tickets to the event: P1,000/guest to cover dinner, raffle, & entertainment.
The following information should give you an idea of the extent of RCMN’s participation, so far, in the coming days and up to the actual date of the event:
KARL STUART McKINNON McLEAN
Born in Gibraltar , August 1, 1955 where my dad ran Shell refinery then moved with my family to Hamburg, then London , followed by Holland where I spent 8 years of my life as my father was on the main board of Shell in London.
I went to a Dutch school which was fabulous as the Dutch are the “freeist” nation in the world. As class prefect I sat on the school board with teachers and parents and my vote had the same power as the teachers.
I played a lot of soccer and earlier cricket.
