Another joint project (rotary information) between RC Puerto Princesa (the oldest Rotary club in the Philippines) was inaugurated by Gov. Ato Magadia and spouse Vicky together with Pres. Bobby Castro and your very own club president Joe. We placed a television with DVD at the airport departure area, which feature the beautiful places of Palawan and the civic activities of Rotary. RC Makati North name is on all sides of the frames of the television. All waiting passengers will have the opportunity to watch the beautiful Palawan and rotary activities.
The city of Puerto and Rotary has a joint project to build a marker by the Bay walk. It will be the marker for Puerto and the BOD of Makati North has to approve the joint project and the amount we have to share.
On September 22, Saturday, our club will host the public relation seminar and needs around 9 co-hosts. As of Monday, there were already 21 clubs who confirmed to co-host the seminar and other 8 clubs to confirm by Sept.19. Another record for the district and for Makati North where almost all the clubs wanted to be a co-host of Makati North.
The TV station Buhay Pinoy will feature this as one of the rotary activities of the district.
I appeal to our members to spice up our club by any means preferably improving our attendance and having worthwhile activities. We have lined up our yearlong activities for you and THE CLUB NEEDS YOU! Your presence in every meeting will encourage everyone to invite prospective members and make them decisive to join the best club, which is MAKATI NORTH!
Our club is being looked up by other clubs as one of the best club and let us all prove to them that we are the best, both in Fellowship and Service.
“ People see the path and they follow, Makati North clears and opens the path and all of them will follow.”

My dear fellow Rotarians with RC Makati North:
Let’s focus on the District’s Annual TRF Testimonial Dinner & Ball, one of the District’s premier Rotary event, that is fast approaching. Again —- the event date and time is Nov. 13, 2009, Friday at 6 pm and venue is at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Peninsula Manila. Tickets to the event: P1,000/guest to cover dinner, raffle, & entertainment.
The following information should give you an idea of the extent of RCMN’s participation, so far, in the coming days and up to the actual date of the event:
KARL STUART McKINNON McLEAN
Born in Gibraltar , August 1, 1955 where my dad ran Shell refinery then moved with my family to Hamburg, then London , followed by Holland where I spent 8 years of my life as my father was on the main board of Shell in London.
I went to a Dutch school which was fabulous as the Dutch are the “freeist” nation in the world. As class prefect I sat on the school board with teachers and parents and my vote had the same power as the teachers.
I played a lot of soccer and earlier cricket.
