Ang Magiting - The Official Web Site of Rotary Club Makati North

Nov. 23, 2011

There are two more club meetings left including todays before we can conclude that the first Semester for this Rotary Year 2011-2012 is finally over. The first and officially the last meeting for the month of December will be treasured, for it will provide answers to some of our questions about Rotary. And I do believe that realization about the reason why we are here in Rotary and why we keep on doing the things that demonstrate service above self will be in every ones actuality.

Generally, I could say that life last year was better than this year and in spite of this matter, I was overwhelmed with the generosity of my fellow RCMNers, for granting the Christmas wishes of more than 200 students which is also the beneficiaries of our Feed a Child, Build a Nation Project that is running for over couple of years now. Aside from this feeding program, each and every one from RC Makati North expressed their big-heartedness in giving scholarship to a number of topmost students who belongs to less fortunate families from the two barangays that we’ve been supporting.

And with the upcoming Governor’s cup, where RCMN is one of the co-host clubs, once again the unity and dedication of the whole club was challenged. I acknowledge everyone who gave their support by committing themselves to play and represent our club, Rotary club of Makati North that once became one of the contenders in every leg of the Governor’s cup Golf tournament. On this 3rd Leg, I will showcase my skills in the course and hopefully will make all of you guys proud (actually, I’ll just enjoy and have fun, hehe). Thanks Ric for mentioning my name in your invitation and giving me no choice, but to embrace the challenge, and I like what you’ve said, “Don’t practice, just have fun” but I have a confession to tell, I started hitting balls in the driving range (I hope I still have enough time). I can’t get rid of my being competitiveness, so, let’s hold those golf clubs and keep on swinging and bring back the glory to RCMN. Let’s go for it! Let’s also take this opportunity to raise fund for the sustainment of our projects, we could also invite our friends to showcase their products and company through hole sponsorships. Once more, thank you guys for the support.

Today, we are privileged to have my classmate Changemaker President Nette Oyales, from RC Makati Pasong Tamo, as our guest speaker. I could say that she is an expert when Gerontology is concerned. Staying young or how to look young is what President Nette could share to all of us and you can tell that she practice what she preach when you see her. She is one of the most adored Presidents on the roster of Presidents in District 3830. There is no reason to miss or not to enjoy our club meeting with our lovely speaker.

Lastly, I acknowledge you my RCMNers for being supportive and committed to our club and also to our secretariat, Betty and Moly, thank you very much. (Two thumbs up).

That in all things, God may be glorified!
