Ang Magiting - The Official Web Site of Rotary Club Makati North

Oct. 5, 2011

The first quarter of this Rotary Year 2011-2012 is over. It’s really true that time flies, I can’t imagine that 3 months has gone already. And without knowing it, I’ll be an immediate past president in no time. But before I leave the post, I or we should find and designate a President elect to be my successor. Like the other Rotary clubs in District 3830, we are still looking for our PE and I do believe that anyone from RCMN are more than qualified to lead the club for the next Rotary year. Support and commitment from me, PP Vic Austria and other Rotarians were communicated for our future President, so, guys just jump in the water is fine.

Last September 21, we celebrated Rotary Anns day and 3 days after that we handed over the school supplies and furniture and fixtures to Sibol day care center at GK Ave Maria. We also celebrated our Fellowship for the month of September at Barcino, Powerplant Rockwell. It’s nice to see some of the pillars of RC Makati North who really makes the club running, thanks for your continuous support.

This week’s meeting will be an interesting one, PP Joe invited one of the best scientist in our country, Dr Francis Chung, and he will be talking about ” the use of stem cell as a complimentary treatment for cancer”.

This is it Team RCMN, the 2nd Leg of the Governor’s Cup Tournament which is scheduled this Friday October 7 at Orchard Golf and Country club and we are using Palmer course. Best of luck to all 8 players who will represent our club.

Our project in Botolan, Zambales is set on October 22 and I’m inviting all of you to be part of this mission for our Aeta brothers and sisters. Our club together with the RC Makati Dasmarinas will do medical and dental procedures. We will also do some vaccination for Meningococcimia with vaccines donated by Dr. Tony Pobre and RC Makati San Miguel. And we are looking forward to an exciting fellowship night with our Aeta friends.

Also, as early as now, I am inviting everyone to join the Rotary International event next year in Bangkok, Thailand. Early booking provides an advantage to lower plane fares.
That in all things, God may be glorified!
