Ang Magiting - The Official Web Site of Rotary Club Makati North

Inaugural Address

July 13, 2011

It was July of 2007 when I first stepped into this same ballroom. There was a big celebration and more than 200 guests in attendance including myself. I don’t know what the celebration was all about… What I know then was, the room was filled with extraordinary people, people with big hearts, and people with big dreams for others. People with the intention of making a difference, people that were born to serve, they’re the people we call leaders. That is the same night, when I first heard something about Rotary Club of Makati North and Rotary in general. I learned what kind of organization Rotary is, and what activities and services they give to different communities.

There were a lot of questions that popped in my mind about this prestigious organization and I said to myself that I also want to do the things a Rotarian does. Honestly speaking, that time, I don’t know how to do it, but all I know was “why I should do it”.

I remembered what my grandfather always tells us, “I shall pass through this world but once, any good, therefore that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again (-Stephen Grellet)”. This is the reason why I’m standing here in front of you tonight, when the position of being president was offered to me.

Now, Dreams are no longer Dreams… as Dreams now have access to Reality.

Tonight is a night of acknowledgement:

First, I acknowledge all of you for coming tonight, I don’t take your presence lightly. I appreciate this, knowing that you have other important things to do tonight and you chose to be here. So, thank you.

I acknowledge you, Gov. Gen. Billy Villareal and your whole team for being an inspiration not only to our district but most importantly to the world that service will not stop when you retire. I salute you, Sir.

I acknowledge all my classmates, the Changemaker Presidents for being a stand for transformation. And with this, I’m also making a stand for the unity of all the clubs under District 3830.

I acknowledge my friends from Landmark Education for the empowerment they provide and for creating possibilities with me. I love you, guys.

I acknowledge my secret weapon, our secret weapon, Rotary Anns of Makati North for working with RCMN in providing good quality living for our community and for their all out support to their faithful spouses and for allowing their partners to serve to the community. And another weapon which is no longer a secret is our secretariat: Betty, Moly and Cris for their commitment and for working together and ensuring we deliver our responsibilities.

I also acknowledge RCC from our adopted barangay in Makati Singkamas and Sta. Cruz, Rotaract club. Thank you for your support and commitment to our club.

I acknowledge our sister club from Raffles City, Singapore for showing their greatness and blessings not only to our club but to our country as well.

I acknowledge the elite men of RC Makati North for trusting me and giving me the chance to serve you. How could I go wrong if I have these men? I’ve been telling myself: They are the real deal!

Last but not the least, I acknowledge my family, friends and relatives for their unending support as they have been my source of strength.

O f course, most of all, I acknowledge my mentor, RCMN past president, and my inspiration for the longest time – my father, Joe Reano for bringing me up as the man you are seeing now.

We, In RCMN, are committed in making a difference to others, creating possibilities into realities, and being a stand for a Philippines that works.

That in all things, God may be glorified!

Again, I am President Archie – The right man!

Thank you and have a great evening.
