Gentlemen of RC Makati North!
Sixty and still sexy. That was the opening message from our new district officer my old friend “Mon” Puno, who arrived with his District Cohorts last Wednesday 15th June 2011.
The good message we received is that our new Governor “Billy” will be more club focused and will be less interested in District projects. FINALLY the clubs will get the support they need which is good news for our club as well as for PE Archie Reano. Good luck Archie with the new regime.
This Thursday 23rd June 2011 we hope finally to get clearance from Department of Health to release the P6M of infant formula that Pacific Healthcare will let us have to distribute to orphanages at Virlanie Foundation as well as Marianna Sisters Foundation in Molino, Cavite. In fact Sister Constellacion who is my eldest text mate in her 70”s assisted us in this quest through her connections via her family.
It is unbelievable that it is so difficult to give something away that is currently being sold in the supermarkets. Shame on the government for letting this happen and so say all of us including the church!
Anyway I will introduce you to Matthew Squires in the next few weeks who is the CEO of Pacific Health Care who are the generous donors of the Infant Formula.
PP Dieter Bruckner very generously donated two water filters to be offset against his membership fee to make sure that both Virlanie and Marianna Sisters obtain clean water for the kids to mix with the infant formula.
Guys we still need to raise say P10,000 to buy the baby bottles after which we are ready to donate the package so please donate say P1000 each towards this new project soonest. Many thanks in advance.
I sincerely hope that our list of new members will grow soonest to assist our club in earning more revenues in the future plus to add new blood to the club which is badly needed to bring our average age down. It is most important that we get our new members involved asap to keep their interest going in Rotary.
Today we have Derek Pyrah, ex Detective from Australia, and David Poley, hotelier and contractor, who will bring a new type of “light” into our lives so let’s welcome them guys. They are fellow Rotarians.
Mabuhay!
