Gentlemen of RC Makati North!
Greetings gentlemen!

Well, we had a delightful presentation last week by Marga Ortigas, the daughter of our late and very much missed ex president Tony Ortigas. The introduction by PP Roger was beautiful and filled the room with emotion.

Marga has done so well with various stations including CNN, ABS CBN and now Aljazeera and has become one of our best reporters of all time. She shared a video with us with the leader of the MNLF, a person on the countries most wanted list. This shows you the respect people of Aljazeera , which is fast becoming the world’s leading “non biased” TV network owned by the Qatar royal family, the Al Thani’s, who by the way are the ONLY active Arab state in the fight against “looney” Khadafi.

Our CLIPP Cup is looming quickly and we have all contributed to the success of this event organized by PP Pabling, PDG Ato, PP Joe Reaño and PP Bert Lina and I am sure it will become a great success.

Today’s speaker Jack Rodriguez is a good friend of mine and our friendship goes back over 17 years starting at La Tienda, Polaris Street, which is frequented by many people with original Spanish backgrounds. Both Jack and my family own houses in southern Spain and enjoy the Spanish culture.

Today Jack will talk about the Mining Industry in the Philippines but he is at home with many different subjects including alternative energy, waste disposal, seismic energy, restaurants (he part owns Italiani’s, TGIF, FlapJack, and owns Crazy Garlic etc.).

But on the subject of mining, the Philippines is one of the wealthiest countries on the world regarding mineral as well as agricultural wealth and for the Philippines to eradicate poverty we should responsibly mine sharing the income with our citizens to increase their living standards and with all the new industries this will create in the Philippines new jobs for all who want to work.

To kick start this industry foreign investors need to be found to assist in the high cost capital investments needed to ensure the ultimate success of this industry
Mabuhay Philippines.
