Gentlemen of RC Makati North!

Greetings gentlemen!

Well “the Bird Man of the Philippines” gave us a great speech and overview on birds in the Philippines and it appeared that most of our members seemed keen to join. Even Robert who normally likes “birds with no feathers.”

This is one of the fastest growing eco tourist areas in the world and the Philippines is uniquely positioned to capture a large share of this market as we have more indigenous birds here (ie. Birds that can ONLY be found in the Philippines).

What Mark did not tell you is that he takes often well known celebrities into the “never never” regions of the Philippines such as the Sulu Sea or Benguet to see these beautiful flying creatures.

Mark even identified PP Joe Reano’s “bird of prey” that swoops in to eat his honey bees on his farm (well as long the bird does not drink Uncle Joe’s wines he will not really protest.)

Mark was better received than Miriam Quaimbao would have been!

You know the Philippines is full of great surprises or as Dick Gordon would have said: “WOW PHILIPPINES.”

Another close friend of mine has agreed to donate up to 50,000 packs of infant nutritional product as a sponsorship offering for our golf tournament and I have decided that Virlanie Foundation will be an excellent recipient of this donation as they have houses where children from 0 to 3 years have a mothers and toddlers group. I will keep you posted on this activity.

Next week I have invited Al Jazeera to give us a speech on their activities in the Philippines as well as their opinion on what their stand is on the North Africa and current Middle East situation (to be confirmed).

I am of to see Tony Newnham this afternoon (8th March) with a huge basket of fruit and our card and will give you an update on his condition at our meeting.

On our Matching Grant for our Feeding Program, Allah Ma, what a performance it is dealing with so many parties, dotting all the “I”s and crossing all the “t”s. Now I know why we only did three in 38 years.
