Gentlemen of RC Makati North!
Happy New Year to you your families and friends

May all your wishes come true but especially I wish you good health, happiness, humility, love and prosperity!

December was an extremely active month for us. We had our Christmas bash at Titania which I believe we all enjoyed with good music and excellent saxophonist, wine flowing, dancing, merrymaking fellowship and just plain good fun.

The venue was perfect for Christmas with candles, and fabulous food prepared for us by Cordon Bleu Chef Rene, guests included Hugh Smith from Singapore who used to head up the SAS (the ultimate “fighters”, when they go in and rescue always completed within 3 minutes (Iranian Hostage Crisis in London, train hostage in Netherlands, etc.), Dra. Diane Chua and her son John Paul Chua who generously donated their time and all the lenses for our glasses donation to teachers and students at F. Benitez Main & III schools.

We finished our Reading Glasses program in December and supplied 51 pairs of glasses to both children and some teachers. Dra. Diane Chua sponsored the testing and the lenses but we have to pay for the frames which she gave us at below cost at P150 per frame ie. P7650 so please chaps contribute to this fund to pay Diane. I will put in the first P1000 to get the ball rolling.

December also saw us donating Christmas gifts to many children at F Benitez Main, where we went to join their party with PP Klink Ang, PP Joe Reano, PE Archie Reano, Ann Daisy dela Torre, PP Tony Chong, Rtn. Je Arriola et al.

RCC ‘s, Interactors and Rotaractors also had their joint Christmas party at F Benitez Main and the team joined in their celebration and much fun was had by all.

The New Year still sees us trying to obtain additional funding to hit our target of sponsoring 300 lunches year round to F Benitez and Singkamas. Today we are sponsoring around 80 students all year which is already more than three times what we were sponsoring last year but not enough.

As its taking us too long to obtain funding through standard matching grants and funding from sister companies, we have gone to the US Embassy’s USEC fund and requested them for the additional funding to sponsor the lunches. They may also choose to participate in the actual feeding once funding gets approved.

This month I shall also write to Mayor Lani Cayetano re our potential project at Maharlika Taguig joint Muslim Christian low cost housing.
