Gentlemen of RC Makati North!

We had a great eye screening at F Benitez last Thursday from 12 midday to 4pm. We all enjoyed it and my thanks go out to Dr. John Paul Chua and his assistant Ailiene who did a great job with the kids and got them all comfortable and laughing. Over 70 were tested and tomorrow we shall do the same at Brgy. Singkamas. Diane Optical are sponsoring the testing and the lenses and we *(or I if nobody else wishes to participate) will sponsor the frames.

Let’s say 200 frames @Php100 per frame means that we need to find P20,000 so all help will be welcome as this is a great cause. The age group being tested is from 6 years old to 9 years old. So members let’s hear from you.

Our Christmas party has been confirmed this 10th December 2010 6pm to 10 pm at Titania, Yakal Street Makati and we shall all be in for a treat. It’s a beautiful old European style wine bar just past Santi’s on the right and will be completely decorated Christmas style especially for us with candles so it will be very romantic (so Robert will like that).

The chef is “Rene” a world travelled Filipino Chef who has cooked in the great kitchens of France and is a Cordon Bleu qualified chef. The cost of the meal will be P600 per person and we will need to know ASAP who shall be coming. I will sponsor wine for those who wish to participate (Pabling my “young” drinking buddy et al).

All toys requested by F Benitez School for its pupils have been committed to by our members so that’s great stuff guys! Many thanks.

Our club is currently, like last year, desperately short of funds and we have decided to set up the following to help us obtain funds:
• Golf tournament early next year to be organized by :Kuya” PP Joe Reano
• Raffle/ Charity event to be chaired by Chris Bellinger
• Art exhibition with an auction ( I need to talk to PDG Ernie Salas as we both own/ owned art galleries
• Any other ideas will be most welcome

I shall also write to corporate sponsors such as Coca Cola to see how they may wish to participate in our charity programs.

I would like to remind our non participating members to please make more of an effort to continue to support our great club to show an example to our younger members who have really made an effort to support and participate in our charity events as well as to attend our luncheon meetings
