My dear fellow Rotarians with RC Makati North:

Let’s focus on the District’s Annual TRF Testimonial Dinner & Ball, one of the District’s premier Rotary event, that is fast approaching. Again —- the event date and time is Nov. 13, 2009, Friday at 6 pm and venue is at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Peninsula Manila. Tickets to the event: P1,000/guest to cover dinner, raffle, & entertainment.

The following information should give you an idea of the extent of RCMN’s participation, so far, in the coming days and up to the actual date of the event:

1. RCMN Honorees (Major Donor = $10,000 contributed to TRF; Paul Harris Fellow = $1,000/year contributed to TRF and could be used towards being a major donor):

* PP Pabling Calma – Major Donor * PE Mac Maclean – PHF * Dir. Chris Bellinger – PHF * Spouse Lot Austria – PHF

2. Also, Sustaining PHF ($100/year towards full PHFellowship): We will re-confirm names this Wednesday.

3. Event Budget: min. P250,000 (based on cost of dinner for projected 200 pax, i.e. honorees, guests, etc. plus miscellaneous expenses.) RCMN is sole host club and we will acquire funds from souvenir program advertisements/ sponsorships at P40K/cover page ads and P10K/inside full page ads.

4. Sponsoring RCMNers (P10K ad in souvenir program):

* PP Dan Villanueva – full page with ad (paid) * Rtn. George Mercado – full page with ad (paid) * PP Bert Lingad – full page with ad * PP Donnies Alas – full page with ad * Dir. Vic – for follow up Also: * PP Chet Tan – half page with ad (paid) * We’ve received sponsorship pledges from some of the 9 RCs and 4 possible major sponsors (e.g Pagcor, Airfreight 21, etc.) that RCMN had earlier approached for possible sponsorship. * PP Klink Ang – full page ad, Manila Times (day of event)

5. RCMN members’ key participation (overall event and/or program):

As host club, I’ve always felt positively that RCMN could and would deliver a successful testimonial dinner. Once again —- RCMN will show the rest of the district that our club is no ordinary club.

Other club business:

Gilda Lim Foundation. According to PP Toti Tobias, District Coordinator for the Gilda Lim Foundation, our request for funds for our planned tree planting program at GK Ave Maria has been essentially approved although the foundation requests RCMN to make a slight modification with our application, i.e. use the funds solely to plant trees and delete food plants and herbal plants. I ask PP Joe Reano, our program chair to coordinate the changes with PP Toti Tobias. Incidentally, we further congratulate PP Joe who was recently given recognition as one of UP Los Banos’s outstanding alumnus.

Singaporean Rotaractors planned visit. I request ideas, suggestions, etc. from members on the planned visit of Rotaractors from Singapore as written to us in an email from RC Raffles City Pres. Steven Teng. Let’s discuss further at this Wednesday’s meet.
