Je Arriola is a graduate of Entrepreneurial Management from the University of Asia and the Pacific. While still in college in 1997, he had his first foray into construction when his father, the late Engr. Isaias Arriola, built what is now the family’s cold storage warehouse business (IRAJ Corporation) along A. Bonifacio Avenue in Balintawak, Quezon City. Acting as his father’s right hand, Je helped oversee the rise of five 500-cubic meter freezers, from the administrative level, to the canvassing and purchasing of materials, down to the nitty-gritty of the daily construction work.
He eventually went on to become IRAJ’s corporate secretary and administrative manager, while at the same time designated to be in charge of the facility’s continuous improvements, repairs and renovations.
In 2006, Je married into a family of contractors and was further inspired to pursue the trade. He did so on a small scale when he and his wife temporarily migrated to San Francisco, California, where he dabbled in the renovation of several apartment units (painting and repairs) while working for Pacific Gas and Electric’s meter reading department.
Upon returning to the Philippines in 2009, Je wasted no time in getting back into the game, so to speak, and established JGI Construction. He sub-contracted projects while working toward an accreditation from the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, which he secured in August of the same year.
He most recently completed the construction of the terminal stalls in the new Marquee Mall in Angeles, Pampanga, and continues to do renovations of offices, stores, restaurants, townhouses, condominium units. As a hobby, Je likes to put on his golfing cap, and when time permits, he works with a group of finishing carpenters to restore old family furniture, which he and his wife now enjoy in their condo unit.
