The 5th LEAP (League of Extraordinary and Admired Pilipino) Leaders Congress

“A Big L.E.A.P. to a Brighter Philippines”. This is the theme for the 5th L.E.A.P. Leaders Congress as it captures the inspiration for launching it 5 years ago, from a gem of an idea hatched in a coffee shop: to tap the youth with their idealism, energy and enthusiasm, to take our country on a LEAP forward to a better Philippines.

The past four LEAP Leaders Congresses have been a continuous source of inspiration to pursue this worthy program. Our speakers have demonstrated through their own “big leaps” in their respective fields that our country can remain hopeful that the best is yet to come. They make each Filipino proud and provide our young leaders the benchmark for models of excellence and patriotism.

This year we are proud to have the following address our young leaders: Tony Meloto, staunch primemover of Gawad Kalinga to transform slums into productive communities, Dr. Onofre Pagsanghan, passionate teacher and theatre arts advocate, Maui Arroyo, entrepreneur and consultant in the commercialization of biotechnology, Emiliano Zulberti, entrepreneur whose belief in Filipino talent made him start and build his company in the Philippines, and Dr. Josette Biyo, multi-awarded educator for excellence in teaching, nationally and internationally.

At the 5th LEAP Leaders Congress we continue to impart to our youth that our dream for a Brighter Philippines, starts with a mindset…a clear vision of a country and people that stands dignified and progressive in the community of nations, and a belief in one’s ability to improve oneself, his community, and country regardless of situation in life, and that the fate and hope of our country lies with no one else but within each one of us. The Congress by its call to action, paves the impetus for our youth to be agents of change.

It is the hope of the organizers that through the annual LEAP Leaders Congress, we are able to do our share in laying the seeds and foundation for a pool of future leaders and citizens who will take that big LEAP to create a Brighter Philippines.

The 5th L.E.A.P (League of Extraordinary and Admired Pilipino) Leaders Congress will be held on January 11, 2008 at Crossroads Convention Center, Mother Ignacia St., Quezon City.
