In line with its continuing educational support program, the Rotary Club of Makati North (RCMN) formally launched its “Adopt-A-Scholar” Program in the presence of club members and sponsors during its Rotary lunch meeting last September 7, 2011. The launching was highlighted by presentation of the twelve scholars from F. Benitez Elementary School Main (Brgy. Sta Cruz) and III (Brgy. Singkamas), who also received shoes, socks, 2 sets of school uniforms and bags from the club.

This year’s RCMN scholars are composed of:

From FBES III :

Jade Villahermosa, Grade IV
Mylis Jade Lausa, Grade V
Joshua Padua, Grade V

After the presentation, the scholars from FBES III delivered their thank you speeches and promised to study hard to attain high grades and make their parents and sponsors proud. Meanwhile, the scholars from FBES Main gave ‘thank you’ notes. Joshua Padua, one of the scholars from FBES III, is a third placer in a mathematics competition held recently in Singapore. The scholars belong to indigent families and are required to have above average grades to maintain their scholarship.

The presentation was led by Pres. Archie Reaño who hopes to increase the number of scholars next school year. After the program, the scholars were treated to a snack at McDonalds, which they really enjoyed.
