The District Rotaract Interact Training Seminar (DRITS) was held at PATTS School of Aeronautics whose also celebrating their 40th year last Saturday, August 13, 2011. The attendees are the Rotaract/Interact Clubs of District 3830.

The acknowledgement was delivered by PP Nestor Del Rosario, thanking the events Sponsoring Clubs and the Change Maker Presidents who took their time to attend the training seminar. He also acknowledge all the Rotaract and Interact Clubs that joined the DRITS.

The first speaker was the District Governor himself, Gov. Ismael Villareal. He gave the audience a small background of what the Rotary is and the supporting services of the Rotary. He had acknowledege the attendees and all the “New Generation” as the source of future carreers or as he says that maybe one or more of the attendees will become the future in the coming years.

After Gov. Villareal’s message, it was followed by the first female District Governor Elect Sue Sta. Maria. Her message has touched the youth in terms of enumerazing all the young achievers in history that has made a difference in the world. It has become a challenge to all the present individual to make a difference. Her speech has ended with a challenge of “What can you do to make the world better?”
As noon approaches, PP Doods Policarpio has taken over the stage and talked about what an individual must have in order to be successful. He has enumerated what a leader must posess. He has also quoted the importance of making a choice by saying, “You will live a long life because you choose to live long, you will be poor because you choose to be poor.” Guidelines on how to become a good speaker was also presented before the end of his speech.
After the lunch break, the attendees were soon divided in order for the Rotaractors and Interactors to have an intimate talk with their respective club associates.
As for the Rotaractors who attended, there was a short introduction of the function of the rotaractors, what they represents and how the officers are designated. A small background of previous events were also presented by PDRR Myreza Catherine Gonzales. She also encouraged the fellow rotaractors to be active in all the events that may follow.
The main guest speaker, Atty. Jose Midas Marquez, soon followed after the break-out session. During his speech he enlightened the attendees on how hardwork could be a key in attaining achievement. He has a background on how hardwork has been a great influence on how he became as he is. As for his closing remarks, he has ended it with a line, “It is not what generation did best but what each generation did with the kinds and the resources.”
DRIAC Danny Gasapin was the last speaker who took off the stage. The main purpose of his speech is to imply to the attendees the importance of making a fund-raising activities. It would be beneficial for the club to have a fund-raising activities for some reason. The first would be, it would help the club to have a greater finance on future activities. Two, it will help the sponsoring Rotary Club in financing the activities. Three, it can be a good motivation for the members in interacting with the community. And lastly as he has quoted, “Fellowship through Service”, fund-raising activities can build strong foundation between the members that could bind them to work not individually but a strong one unit.
The event ended with a Raffle Time. Many prizes were given away and one Rotaract attendee was very lucky to have won a brand new cellphone.
