As Rotary have been aiming to have more and more kids learn to read and be ready for the world, they have facilitated the book donation and book reading program to their adopted Barangay Sta. Cruz which was led by Vocational Dir PJ Jison. It took place last Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Brgy. Hall were almost 50 kids were present and they all had the chance of learning or improving their reading skills.

Among the RCMN members who participated in the event are PP Tony Chong, Kevin Prasad, Je Arriola, Archie Reano and Pres. Mac and wife Izzy. Also to show support is Jervy Cruz, former UST Tiger and PBA cager (Rain or Shine) who shared his time to be with the children in support of the PBA’s program in increasing child literacy in the Philippines. Part of the group who assisted are the Rotaractors who also spent some time reading some books for the children.
The books that were donated costs only for Php 5.00 each and with this, a lot of children will largely benefit coming from the minimum amount contributed. Now, who would have thought that a Php 5.00 can go a long way?
