Career Awareness Forum

The Rotary Club of Makati North joined hands with sister club Rotary Club of Wack Wack in Career Awareness Forum held August 27, 2010 at Makati Science High School fondly called as MakSci.

The project focuses on preparing MakSci juniors in expanding the education and career options when they decided to pursuit their university education.

The forum was opened with invocation and the national anthem led by MakSci students followed by a welcome remarks by Ms. Tet Ruiz, head of Math Department. She encouraged the students to listen attentively and participate actively for them to get the most out of the forum.

RCMN Dir. PJ Jison then introduced Dignitaries and Guests followed by inspirational speeches from global presidents Mac McLean of RCMN and Jun Padre of RCWW. President Mac inspire the students to be more dedicated and focus to their studies while Pres Jun Padre enthuse them to become motivated and focused on plans for the future.

RCWW IPP Gina Roxas introduced RCPW PP Manny Tamayo as the Career Awareness Forum speaker. As the chairman of Youth Services Committee of District 3800, his objective was to arouse the interest of the students in preparing for their future by creating awareness on the various options available for them. He talked about the relations of dependency versus responsibility according the age bracket of every individual.

PP Manny also discussed the proper discipline, character formation and skill development needed in their career formation emphasizing the wonders and challenges of being in their age right now. The presentation was stuffed with clever ideas, great quotes, video clips, group singing and injecting some personal humor and antics.

The emcee RCMN Rtn. Danny Rayos del Sol made it more interesting by challenging the student with questions and answers about the whole presentation and gave out gifts and prizes for volunteers and winners of the game.

In the closing remark of Dir. Archie Reano, advised the students to learn to consider their choices and recognize that actions do have consequences. The decisions they make today will have a direct impact on their future career options. They need to become actively involved in the choices and decisions that will determine their future. And finally, encouraged the students to face challenges and follow career paths that are in line with their skills and talents.
