The Week That Was

PE Joe had a couple of announcements for his term: 1) to post our souvenir ads early (we are also invited to get 2 to 3 ads) for the Induction ceremonies on July 18th 2) announcement is the District Raffle Ticket where our Club will earn 100K by selling 48 booklets for Php2,500 each. There are monthly draws for consolations prices and the Grand Raffle Winners will get one of these cars: Toyota Yaris or Toyota Fortuner or Toyota Camry. (So get and pay tickets right away.)

Our passionate and energetic guest speaker, EMA TRINIDAD-PALMA spoke about Nourishing the Children. Ms. Palma said that every 6 seconds there is a child that dies of malnutrition. And when children doesn’t get their nutrition in an early age the consequences are infant mortality, anemia, decrease learning capacity, mental retardation, weakened immune system and even blindness. She proposes to give children the NUSKIN product of VITAMEAL – which is an ultimate nutrient-dense personal consumption food, perfect for feeding these children. (Ok. She explained NUSKIN is a direct selling company and not “pyramid” scheme company). By the way Mr. Lee Laacoca is advocating this product. Anyway, PE Joe explained that we also have a Feed a Child, Feed a Nation program which we started from the time of Past President Tony Chong term and has been on a role since now.

Our Governor Elect Ato and Ms. Palma agreed to join forces in this program whereby the group of Ms. Palma can or may match each clubs donation to the Nourish the Children Program. (Wow, looks like a matching grant!).
