Wednesday marked incoming president Archie Reano’s first President’s Time. It was a very promising first address as President Archie began with a report on the status of the club’s 10 scholars—five of whom have already been sponsored by Robert Syjuco. More generous members stood up to the call and pledged their support to send these deserving but underprivileged students to schools. They are PP Ric del a Torre, IPP Mac McLean, PP Boy Sevilla, and PDG Ato Magadia.

President Archie also lined up the forthcoming activities of the club, namely, the 39th Induction ceremony on July 13; an outreach/feeding program at F. Benitez School, Brgy. Sta. Cruz on July 20, which will benefit some 101 students; a club trainer seminar on July 16; a membership seminar on July 23 at St. Luke’s Medical Center; the kick off project of the district, “Isang Handog Para sa Kabataan” on July 9; the next fellowship at Zuni on July 27 where everyone is encouraged to bring potential members. It will certainly be a busy month of July for RCMN.

President Archie asked for the club’s support during his term, and expressed that he is up to face the challenges that will come his way. He is committed to be a change-maker president, a pledge that was enthusiastically welcomed by the members.
IPP Mac, meanwhile, gave three important awards to PP and Director Klink Ang, Director Kevin Prasad and Director PJ Jison (who was unable to make it) for playing important roles during his term. He also brought a guest with him from our Rotary Club of Clark by the name of Lawrence Springthorpe, an IT specialist.
Other notable announcements came from PP Vic Austria, who talked about the forthcoming induction ceremony of our sister clubs, Rotary Club of Raffles City and Rotary Club of Shah Alam. He also mentioned the details to the trip to Tanay for the Gawad Kalinga project. It was also agreed that the next fellowship night will be held on August 17 at the residence of PP Bert Lingad.
It was also PP Bert Lingad who gave invocation, praying for guidance for the new set of officers and directors.
It was a very good start to what will surely be an excellent year for the Rotary Club of Makati North.
